Greetings

Jó reggelt! (Good morning!) — Jó napot! (Good day!) — Jó estét! (Good evening!) — Szia! (Hi! — informal) — Üdvözlöm! (Hello! — formal). The most common formal greeting: Üdvözlöm! The reply: Üdvözlöm! or Jó napot kívánok!

Introducing yourself

A nevem [János Kovács]. (My name is [János Kovács].) — Hogy hívnak? (What is your name?) — A nevem Anna. — Örvendek a találkozásnak! (Pleased to meet you!) — Én is örvendek! (Pleased to meet you too!)

Saying goodbye

Viszontlátásra! (Goodbye! — formal) — Sziasztok! (Bye! — informal) — Jó napot! (Good day!) — Köszönöm a segítségét! (Thank you for your help!)

Thanks and requests

Köszönöm! (Thank you!) — Köszönöm szépen! (Thank you very much!) — Nagyon köszönöm! (Many thanks!) — Szívesen! (You're welcome!) — Kérem, [ismételje meg]. (Please [repeat it].) — Elnézést, nem értettem. (Sorry, I didn't understand.)
